Docker

Metabase provides an official Docker image via Dockerhub that can be used for deployments on any system that is running Docker.  Here’s a one-liner that will start a container running Metabase:

  $ docker run -d -p 3000:3000 --name metabase metabase/metabase

This will launch a Metabase server on port 3000 by default.

NOTE:

If you are using VirtualBox on a Mac make sure to map the container port on your VM ;)

The image is built from the openjdk base image and includes the Metabase application and a simple shell script for launching.
