Vertica is a database specialized for analytics. It features columnar storage with a massively parallel processing architecture ideal for handling large, data-intensive queries. Vertica has a standard SQL interface, and includes in-database machine learning tools for categorization, fitting, and prediction, among many other features. It’s platform-independent, so you can run it on prem or on any of the major cloud providers.
