In this talk, Luiz Arakaki introduced the new Metabase Analytics collection, which tracks usage and performance stats, as well as configuration changes. Luiz demonstrated how this feature provides valuable insights into how people are using Metabase.
Luiz showcased new dashboards and models that track a wide range of events, offering a more comprehensive audit feature compared to previous versions. Key aspects covered in the demonstration included tracking user activity, auditing actions for compliance purposes, and analyzing performance metrics to optimize dashboards.
Jess then walked through improvements in dashboard functionality, such as the ability to move cards between tabs and wiring up dashboard filters in bulk faster. Search enhancements were also highlighted, allowing users to filter results based on content types, creator, editor, and verified items.
During the Q&A session, participants asked about various topics, including the possibility of new graph types, passing parameters into alerts, and customizing alerts for Slack.
